Query Statement:I will be getting my A levels result in August this year. I took Accounts, Economics, Sociology and General Paper as subjects and now planning for higher education. I am extremely confused about which field to opt for. I have not made any priority list but some of the fields I have in mind are ACCA, BBA from some Pakistani university or flying to Australia to acquire a Bachelor’s degree (Finance, Commerce, Management or Economics). What should I do? Also, tell me what the scope of BBA in Pakistan is.

If he keeps accounting and econ he can go for ACCA, later opt for CA or CFA even. The scope for finance subjects is great world over. Just as long as he is good at finance and thinks he can be. Sociology and gp can help him in advertising. I’m a professional there so can safely say it’s not a bad field to work in but growth is slow and steady. So most guys don’t stick. And if he wants to pursue a career in a bank he can pursue econ n accounting again.

As for BBA scope in Pakistan. It’s considered great but for econ n finance related careers he should go for BCS not BBA and then try to pursue MCS and PhD not MBA. Otherwise BBA leading to an MBA is good enough for the job market

Of course your best option is acquiring bachelor degree from Australia but your field depends on your grade in A-Levels and the eligibility criteria of the university you want to apply.

My recommendation for you is to take bachelor degree in management and then do ACCA. Why did I recommend you to bachelor first? Because no doubt ACCA has its worth but it is not the degree. It is certificate course.

In Pakistan BBA has only worth if it is done by Top universities. Otherwise it is useless because here every other person is doing or has done BBA/MBA
