Doing job with not specific Job description which relates me to Finance. I want to study ahead, but I am confuse what to choose, ACCA or MBA or something Technical Like Software Developer Course which make me stronger to get a job with higher Salary.

Query Statement: Hi, I did regular studies till Intermediate in 2006, After that I start job due to Financial Problems. I am worried about my future as I have no professional degree and not relevant experience. I am in Finance Department but Job nature is like getting Inventories of Assets, Verification of Bills of Quantity against Purchase Order, Some Warehousing.

Now I want to study ahead, but I am confuse what to choose, ACCA or MBA or something Technical Like Software Developer Course which make me stronger to get a job with higher Salary.

You can go for executive MBA program me where you can do your job as well

Thanks for your query. It’s good to read that you are motivated & productive thoughts to have brighter career which itself a very positive approach, appreciated.

As your present job role is related to business integration & commerce additionally you are doing B.com  so in my opinion idea to do Masters in Business Administration or M.Com is much better than to start with software development. As there are two aspects for my recommendation, one is ever in demand trades for MBA/M.Com people & second the present market situation which we can foresee for the next couple of years will not be much changing. On other side career in software development is hard to get due to job market saturation as very few job opportunities come up against many graduates & post graduates. Although CA/ ICMA can be another good

Option for you but please keep in mind that accounts & finance job openings are not that frequent compare to business / commerce. So in my opinion you should go ahead for MBA or M.com parallel to your ongoing job.

Best of Luck.

Saeed Ahmad

I’ll suggest you to get your B.Com degree first then follow MBA track.  Doing courses in software development without degree in software engineering will not help you in longer run, while ACCA is relatively tough and expensive will take around 4-5 years to complete.

Sajid Ali

Well I will suggest M.Com to proceed with

Hasnain Malik

For you I will suggest you to do MBA

Allah Almighty has decided how much we can get. Allah Almighty is our provider.

You’ll have to plan how you would like to accomplish whatever Allah has decided for you.

Just calm down you are doing good.

Now you are going to take next step… Go for MBA or MCS/MSC IT, well I recommend you MCS/MSC IT according to your financial conditions. And also do short courses for skill development time to time. Dear Brother! Develop an entrepreneurial sense. Your creative mind is your biggest asset. Rizwan respect whatever you’ve accomplished.

Good Luck!

You must opt for Software Developer Course as you have an interest and have skill for that. Go ahead and best of luck.

Feel lucky that you have a job in such tough economic times. Your goal should be to do CA, good job will accompany your increase in competence. Accounting software’s will help you be more productive and will help you in your job. Be focused and consistent in achieving your goals; don’t switch your professional line due to money worries.

 Good Luck!!

Good to know you have almost done your BCom from AIOU. both ACCA and MBA have their merits and demerits. However i would prefer ACCA over MBA for the following reasons

  1.    Degree with international recognition.
  2.    you can study along with your job
  3.    Less costly in case of high ranking MBA from renowned institutions.

So i would recommend you to do ACCA.

I have understood your query.First as you have mentioned that you have some sort of experience in Finance field, and also have hands on SAP software, i will suggest you to do MBA in Finance in Evening and continue your job, it will not burden you out more, and your fees will be manageable as well. After MBA you can get much better job as you will become MBA in Finance and will have more experience in the same field.Good Luck

Salaam

Please opt for some proper academic degree such as MBA finance.

Do MBA, it has good scope…

Ajaz Ahamd

Consider the following points. First, select the subject you like the most, so that you can excel in it. Do not follow the random opinions of people who are unqualified to advise you. Do not get trapped to the fancy of ACCA, AutoCAD or any other thing. It is not about the program but the person who pursue it. Second if you have financial support from family for higher studies than go for full time studies otherwise, do not leave the job and get admission to some evening programmes. Comsats and some other universities offer these. Last word, yes you should improve your qualification but do not leave the job for the fact that it is less paid. Because it is giving you experience in addition to salary. Also that most of the jobs used to be mix of duties so do not worry about it. Hope it works

Regards
